Chairman’s report:

During Covid a number of us realised something very simple. A large part of Guernsey’s visitor economy was in danger of being completely overlooked while support was rightly going to other parts of the hospitality sector.

Many of us were small independent businesses. Guides, activity providers, transport operators, attractions, food producers, accommodation providers, retail and marketing businesses and many others. Individually we were easy to miss, but together we represent a significant part of the island’s visitor economy. The Guernsey Tourism Partnership was created to bring that community together and to give it a voice.

Since then, the committee has met consistently every month. This has always been a voluntary effort, and the amount of time and energy people around this table have given to it has been extraordinary.

From the beginning we decided that if we wanted to be taken seriously, we needed to be constructive. Real change rarely comes from the side-lines. It comes from building relationships, being helpful, being adaptable, and working with people so that you are invited to sit at the table when decisions are being made. Over the past few years we have worked hard to build those relationships with VisitGuernsey, the media and Government.

Today the GTP is regularly involved in conversations that affect our sector. We have seats on the Tourism Management Board, representation on the Ferry Consultation Forum, involvement in the Cruise Guernsey workstream, and ongoing dialogue with VisitGuernsey and the Tourist Information Centre. We are also now being consulted on wider changes that affect tourism businesses, such as GST and new initiatives like the Ambassador scheme.

A few years ago the businesses that welcome visitors to this island were largely unrecognised as a sector. Today the GTP is seen as a constructive and legitimate voice representing a wide range of tourism businesses across the islands. That is something we should all be proud of.

For my part, I am now standing down as Chair. It has been a privilege to be involved in this from the beginning, and I am very proud of what this committee has built together.

I am very pleased to recommend Hannah Beacom as the next Chair. Hannah is a fellow founding member and someone I have worked alongside on many occasions and many projects. She understands the sector, understands the complexity of the conversations we are involved in, and has the full support of the committee. I am confident she will do an excellent job leading the partnership in the years ahead.

I will not be disappearing. I hope to stay involved and continue helping strengthen communication between members so that this community of businesses stays connected and continues to speak with a strong collective voice.

Finally, I would like to thank all of you for your support, and especially the committee. Your dedication, your friendship and your willingness to give your time have been an inspiration.

A few years ago this was just a group of businesses trying not to be forgotten. Today it is a recognised voice for a whole sector of the island’s economy. That has only happened because people here cared enough to make it happen.

Thank you.

Chris thanked Ant for his dedication and work as Chair over the years since inception of the GTP.

Secretary’s report:

Amanda read the Secretary’s Report.

Our 2026 membership currently stands at 74.

The GTP currently has 4 officers and 5 committee members.

We have met regularly throughout the year and have sought to represent the interests of tourist attractions and operators.

We have regular meetings with Visit Guernsey and our Chairman is currently a member of the Tourism Management Board and will remain until June. The GTP has also been invited to join the TMB as a participating member.

We have an AGM each Spring.

We have run workshops to educate partners about certain aspects of the tourist economy in collaboration with Visit Guernsey.

We shall be following a similar programme for the forthcoming year.

Treasurer’s report:

Chris noted that our Treasurer, Toni de Kooker, was unable to attend the meeting and, in her absence, read through the financial statements.

Accounts for the year ending 31 December 2025:

Proposed by Ant Ford-Parker and seconded by Andy Furniss, and approved unanimously by the meeting.

Account examiner:

Kelly Creasey will continue as the account examiner for 2026.

Membership Fees:

It was noted that website fees had not previously been charged as Mike Le Conte had absorbed these as a committee member. As he is no longer on the committee, hosting costs are now being incurred. It was therefore proposed to increase the membership fees, which had not been increased since inception.

Current fees (proposed new fees):

Sole trader – £10 (£15)

2–10 employees – £20 (£40)

11–99 employees – £50 (£100)

100+ employees – £100 (£200)

The proposed fees were put forward by Hannah Beacom, seconded by Susan Lloyd and agreed unanimously.

It was also suggested that future invoices include the option for members to make an additional voluntary contribution if they wish to support the GTP further.

Election of officers and committee members:

Ant confirmed he was standing down as Chair.

Chair – Hannah Beacom (proposed by Ant Ford-Parker, seconded by Clive Acton)

Vice Chair – Amanda Johns (proposed by Chris Meinke, seconded by Andy Furniss)

Treasurer – Toni de Kooker (proposed by Chris Meinke, seconded by Mim Sarre)

Secretary – Jane Barnes (proposed by Chris Meinke, seconded by Mim Sarre)

Committee Members:

No additional nominations were received. The existing committee members Clive Acton, Andy Ison, Andy Furniss, Mim Sarre, Chris Meinke and Ant Ford-Parker were proposed as a group by Hannah Beacom and seconded by Suzanne Le Pavoux.

All proposals were approved unanimously.

Any other business:

Susan Lloyd requested that action points from the AGM are highlighted and reported back. She noted that at the previous AGM she had asked for an update regarding the installation of the TV at the new Visitor Information Centre location and had not received feedback. It was noted that following Zoe Gosling’s presentation, the TV is expected to be installed in the near future.

There followed presentations from Jo Meerveld (Islands Unlimited), Mim Sarre, Philip Saunders (Aurigny) and Zoe Gosling (VisitGuernsey).

There being no further business, the meeting closed at 8:15pm.
